The Soil Health Partnership has an exciting opportunity for farmers to try out cover crop seed mixes. Seed mixes have been developed for their potential soil health benefits for different crops, but there is little information about how the mixes perform in New Hampshire under various conditions. By participating, farmers are helping the Soil Health Partnership learn more about what mixes are best for the New Hampshire climate and soils, for different crops, and for different soil health goals.
Funding for this project is provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service: Soil Health Division.
Eligibility: farmers might be eligible for a free bag of cover crop seed mix if they are growing certain crops and they are willing to plant the seed mix according to our timeline and specifications. We can also help with getting larger quantities of cover crop seed mixes by purchasing them wholesale for multiple farms. Contact your local Conservation District if you are interested, or fill out the form below and someone will contact you.
Contact us before March 15, 2019 to be considered for our 2019 cover crop mix trials.
